Over the weekend I have had 2 swarms arrive at the same bait hive on a shed roof . Swarm one covered 3frames probably a cast ,Sunday ,another swarm arrived at the same bait hive and seem to have taken over ,lots of fighting and casualties outside the hive ,when checked in the evening found bees...

Myself lost a nuc and full hive this year ,that was in april but that was due to cold as there was stores left in both hives the numbers of bees was very small ,so my thinking was that they were reluctant to break the cluster ,my numbers are back up again and i will have a few to many hives i...

Thanks for the replys and suggestions am going to give them some foundations and extract the excess ,then i will give them back the extracted frames to clean and use again . Eric.

Is there a way to have the bees move the stored honey in BB frames to my super frames or will the bees do this themselves when they need the room ,i have a double brood with plenty stores and the supers are being filled slower than the brood box ,maybe i,m just looking for quick result to soon...

United two of mine with some icing sugar and mist of water over excuder and newspaper they were through the paper by morning and are very happy together .Queenless hive on top .

Thanks ITMA Was going to check again tomorrow as they swarmed out today and settled on a fir very close to their hive ,they then started to fan at the hive entrance and in front on the ground and started to go back in ,why are they doing this puzzling me ?Is this common ,i thought it might be...

Have looked at this hive and found a queen cell in th middle brood frame ,surrounded by brood sealed and open.Another on a back frame with no stores at all or brood just drawn comb ,the qc was not good ,have removed this cell and left good cell on frame was this the right thing to do?There were...

Most certainly dead, wee one wanted to bury her with full honours ,because she was the queen ,i am interested to find out in the morning whats going on though ,seriously though "fainting queens " c,mon .Why would she play dead ,if they don,t want her back where would she go ?

Today one of my hives ,thought they were swarming but found my marked clipped queen outside dead,and quickly the bees calmed down and flew back into the hive ,looked at them last week and was very pleased with this queen as there was lots of brood in all stages ,i,m thinking they have superceded...
