Hi all, I have one healthy hive with healthy queen and another hive which is 4 week cast swarm, which has no queen. I suspect there is laying workers as all I can see is caped drone brood. Could I join both these hives together or would the laying workers kill the good queen?

Hi all, Just some advice needed. I got a medium sized swarm from my friend three weeks ago, i have inspected them three times, and can't find the queen. There are eggs larve, and capped brood with stores. From the latest inspection i could see what looked like qc!! can anyone shed some light...

Hi received a swarm on Monday, the weather since has been terrible to say the least! Had a look at them this evening, and they seemed lifeless. Should I feed them, or is it to late? They have only foundation in with them, so will have no stores. Your replies very much appreciated.

After 2 and a half weeks my five frame nuc that I installed has not drawn out any of the foundation either side!! I am currently treating with apiguard, could this bee the problem? They are bringing inroads of pollen so what could be the problem. Don,t tell me it's toot.

Today was a good day for the bees as the weather was one of the best in the last week. I noticed at least 6 bees in the grass or around the hive that didn't make it back. Is this normal wastage or is there something wrong. The rest were bringing in plenty of pollen.

Hi my new nuc is 11 days old and after an inspection I noticed that they haven't started on any of the new frames installed either side of the five frames that came with the nuc. Is this normal due to the weather, they have been bringing in some pollen. I'm feeding them to try and help them...

Hi members, installed a five frame nuc last Friday, and today noticed workers taking out two bees that had mites on them. Also several bees had poorly formed wings. My inspection board showed 2 mites on it, do I need to do anything, or is there a bigger problem. Please help

Just installed five frame nuc yesterday, bees seem healthy and queen was present on frames. Also put top feeder on top of crown board then empty super then roof. Checked today and bees don't seem to be feeding on the sugar syrup, and bees aren't flying. Is this normal, or have I don something...
