    rye flour instead of soya

Hi All I am just about to make some patties, I read in a vary old bee book that you can use rye flour for patties. On the feedbee web site it says you should not feed soya flour, ( maybe to sell there product ) but have any of you, used rye flour in your patties ?? Thanks Dean

Is there another insurance option other than BBKA?

N F U defonatly do insurance, for bee keeping. Leicester & Rutland BKA get there insurance from the Market HArbrough Office. They also quoted me last year, :( Makes BBKA membership and insurance good value though... Dean

    Absence during swarming season

7 days, should not be a problem. check last thing before you go. as an extra, i would put an empty super above the crown board incase a good flow starts, this will allow the bees to go up through the hole giving extra space to stop swarming due to over crowding.. dean
