    AS short term alternative

    ok, so swarming season is going a little mad in this area and its hard to keep up with kit, it occurred to me that on spotting swarm QC's you could remove the queen with a few attendants to give you some breathing space at least until the first queen emerges - ie no queen = no swarm Just wanted...

    Vandal attack in urban site

    Small attack but still a pain. Got a call today re hive pushed over on a site of 12 hives, the odd things people do. Footprints in the snow, I just wished it had been a badger but sadly it was some plank who did it. Bees ok but will have been chilled and stressed in the 6hr period missing...

    Queen introduced today

    Had a nuc become queenless so took a queen from one of the mini nucs and added her - from memory I think rejections this late are very high so I plan to leave them alone for a while now, not alot I can do anyway. anyone else done really late queen introductions? JD
