    Another Beekeeping show

This is a ridiculous thread and does you no credit Patrick - I am a customer of yours and a BFA member and this serves no purpose other than it looks like you are trying to do harm to other individuals and their legitimate commercial activities. You should withdraw it and reflect - you run a...

    Another Friend Gone

I don't spend any time on this forum anymore but felt the need to comment on the sad loss of Pete Little, this forum's past success is in no small part to his moderator role and the wisdom he brought to the forum - I will always be grateful for his openness and contributions to beekeeping. Love...

Want to buy Honey from beekeper

Disappointed is not the word I would use :-) Steven1985 happy to take a call from you on 07980 261554 I'm a small scale beefarmer running around 400 hives across the Sheffield region, and believe it or not we like many others have the same concerns over the content of many products and how...

    Stuff people get away with

Not convinced it has been brood, super frames that have never seen brood get very dark after a seasons or two - personally I would not extract from brood frames but that image is not clear. Don't care about the wire as it probably helps the frame from collapsing at breakfast time. I do recall...

    Stuff people get away with

This one I have to comment on. Isn't this just a comb that guests have been consuming over 2-3 days? in other words nothing wrong with what you see as 300 people have been hacking at it - they spoon runny honey from the tray. You seem to be suggesting a beekeeper has sold this (as it is in the...

I can't be arse'd to read em, you got me - go spend away, sounds like a dream solution

    Flow Hive - more info

Yeh spend away, $470 per super box - what can possibly go wrong, out of all the things to challenge a beekeeper this is the most silly - 'honey is messy'. The fact that most new beekeepers pack in within two years should be caution enough re spending money on these things. Who on earth has 5...

    Flow Hive - more info

What happens when your queen manages to squeeze up into this (single magic tap) super and you start cranking the handle two weeks later? It appeals to the bone idle, and I can see that is the single 'beekeeping in your shorts' hook with its QVC style advertising. Really cant wait to see...

    Flow Hive - more info

Have you seriously paid £450 for a honey super (with a tap)? Still laughing here.

    Cleaning QE

Sorry but what? had to check the date and that its not April 1st, your suggesting bees use too much energy going via plastic queen excluders? who starts these stories….:icon_204-2: 100% easy way to clean beeswax off any queen excluders is to simply boil a large kettle and then run the boiling...

    Maisie's poly nucs

:) no, it was my reintroduction back into the subject matter and the guy had a Park poly nuc, I remember it so well

    Maisie's poly nucs

Yeh Park, I have a soft spot for them (long story)

    Maisie's poly nucs

I think some of you are missing the point re what Paynes are doing and or what other manufacturers may do too. Using nucs is nothing new, but these add ons will help manage your nuc population pure and simple. Slap em into a hive? no, thats not the point, the idea is to maintain, build and...

    Maisie's poly nucs

Posted all the pics on the facebook page 'sheffieldhoney' - anyway, I have the brood box extension and the top feeder option too. There is a super too but I dont have that, they all go on sale at Beetradex. Thanks to Roger at Paynes for sending these samples. Very impressed, all good quality...

Swienty Poly Nationals - design change

The roof in the image is not seated properly, these new roofs are the identical sizeof brood/super box in terms of width and depth and when sat on the super or brood box there is a small rounded edge that to match the box below. Will take a few more pics. JD
