Thanks to everyone Thanks to everyone for taking the trouble to reply. Talking to local beekeepers at a routine meeting today, the consensus is that I have got away with it. I will report on this thread if there are any problems or anything interesting.

I'm a new (2nd year) beekeeper going through a steep learning curve! I did an artificial swarm, but could not find a queen in either colony post-swarm. On advice, I re-united the 2 colonies over newspaper, with a nice fat queen cell in the bottom brood box. My adviser said remove the paper and...
