Was amazed to find a bee getting her fill of plum juice! Has anyone else seen anything like it?

I've had something similar - i didn't think she went out to mate again but thought that the first mating flights hadn't been entirely satisfactory for whatever reasons - mated with own drones perhaps - which can result in decreased viability of fertilised egg laying, or just hadn't mated...

caught a tiny swarm, checked our hives and they defo didn't come from us so maybe from a feral colony in the woods or some other beek nearby ... it's looking impressive honey-wise this year!

do bees fly by the light of the silvery moon? there was a spectacular full moon a few nights ago!

This evening gave some super cappings back to bees to clean up - left the sticky tights in as well. So many supers on each colony!
