    robbing and dead bees

Hi I did go on a course although my dad was terminally ill at the time so my focus was elsewhere. They prob did talk about it but I can't recall. I hadn't got any bees when I went on the course so everything was new to me and I felt there was a lot of info to absorb. Anyway, I have had a steep...

    robbing and dead bees

Thanks for the advice. I am gutted that I have lost my bees especially after they survived the last 2 winters. I am so annoyed at myself that I didn't close up the entrance quickly enough or small enough to start with when I first saw the wasps. Being fairly new to beekeeping I didn't realize...

    robbing and dead bees

I had been feeding the bees sugar syrup which they were not taking. I checked a week later and the wasps...

queen cells - what to do with them

The queen is there and there was only one queen cell sealed on that frame. There have been other empty queen cells which I have took off. The pattern is ok I think. There are drone cells in clusters

queen cells - what to do with them

About six frames of brood in a national hive, I only put the super on yesterday. How quickly would I expect the frames to fill with brood.

queen cells - what to do with them

Hi, I am very very new to beekeeping. I have had my hive for 3 weeks. On my last 2 inspections I took out some empty queen cells. Yesterday I found one queen cell on bottom of frame that was sealed. In a panic I took it out thinking that the colony was too new to swarm !! The queen is there and...
