    Bees refuse syrup

    Thanks for all the advice. I shall pour some syrup into the combs with an old washing up liquid bottle (well washed) and give them fondant and hope for the best

    Bees not taking syrup Thanks for the advice, I have fed another hive 3 buckets of syrup, every time I found a full bucket still on this hive I removed it and fed to the other colony. Didn't know whether I should unite them with the newspaper method or not. First time this has happened!

    Broodbound

    Hmm thanks for all the replies. The brood box last year was packed to capacity with workers storing honey on outside of box and the queen was laying away just fine. The honey super above had new wax and frames and the bees were drawing wax on just two frames. I left them alone to get on with it...

    Broodbound

    My bees keep on going 'brood bound' that is instead of storing honey in the honey super they store it in the brood box. I was advised to take away the queen excluder and let the bees up but the queen goes up and lays brood eggs in the honey frames. Does anybody have any ideas? BoutBees:willy_nilly:
