    CBD Infused Honey

Hi Mark, We only sell runny honey and have never had a soft set offering in our history believe it or not, although I suspect that you could infuse any honey really. CBD honey is popular amongst the elderly - particularly with those suffering joint/muscle issues, folk with sleep disorders and...

    CBD Infused Honey

The regulation of cannabidiol (CBD) by the FSA is supposed to be implemented by 31st March 2021 (give or take a bit due to Covid). We are actively engaged with them to help formulate the new legislation, along with the listed and licenced British company who make a bespoke, high-strength...

    Dipel/Certen

Mix the powder thoroughly 1:20 and then use this stock solution 1:5 to make the working-strength solution to be sprayed onto the frames. About 10 ml per side per frame is used.

No involvement in the Conwy Honey Fair Peter? I’ve emailed the address on the web site twice now about attending but nobody bothers getting back. Perhaps it’s only open to the Welsh.

    Electric extractor recommendation

There may be a time when you decide to run more colonies. Perhaps it’s best to have a bit of spare capacity for a couple of hundred quid?

    Konigin

Ta very much. Lyson also make a 24/12 swing basket but it’s quite pricey.

    Konigin

Anyone have a 12, 18 or 24 frame Konigin swing basket at all? Interested to know what they’re like and whether they can handle National brood frames.

Vertical split for swarm control--any success?

And I suggest that you’re starting to sound rather supercilious and enjoying the sound of your own voice. I suggest it’s you that needs to read further on the subject.

Vertical split for swarm control--any success?

You’re all as crackpot as each other. I know at least three other bee farmers that use the Demaree method in it’s various forms as standard.

Vertical split for swarm control--any success?

    That is utter utter nonsense.

Where did you get that from?

I did BBC Countryfile Live in 2016 at Blenheim, during it’s first year. Total cost for a 3m x 2m stand, fuel, cheap accommodation etc etc - £2,800 120,000 came over the four days across what must have been a 90 to 100 acre site hosting 750 traders of all different shapes and sizes as well as...

Abelo Poly Hive and frame spacing

Not quite sure that I agree with you there. 14x12 aren’t too dissimilar to Commercial when it comes to available cells and the brood area. There’s no reason that they can’t cope with a strong Buckfast/Carni Q and as they’d be in a poly hive they’d happily draw and lay on the outside frames too...

Abelo Poly Hive and frame spacing

If you’re using the National brood box then why not consider moving to Lyson’s 14x12 with a dummy board? It MAY suit you better.

    Drone laying workers

Agreed. Ditch them and start again.

Seconded. It makes a difference. Use it all the time now.
