Sorry or I'm being daft but isn't the extractor for getting honey out, not for melting wax?

    How much kit!

I couldn't agree more. I'm in first year and I've gone from 1 to 3 hives and a nuc. I've been making kit like there's no tomorrow. I've been using OSB, it doesn't look the nicest but with a coat of paint its not bad. The bonus is that I can make a base, a lid and two brood boxes for under £30...

    Woodworking table saw recommendation

I bought a Charnwood last week the saw/motor is good but the rip fence is a bit off. I got it second hand for less than £200 but I wouldn't be happy if I had paid full price.

    My new hive ...

Great hive building skills I'm well impressed. What size wire did you use for the frames, I bought some that I thought would do from the garden centre the other day but its to thick.

Wouldn't it be better to get an air gun and go and help the farmers out with some pest control. Nothing tastes better than wild rabbit.

    My bee project

New hive built today, already for action stations. Built it out of old external ply I found in the shed so its a bit rough but I have to say I'm quite pleased for my first hive.

    Frame sizing

Just out of interest how does the supermarket take the honey? Do you have to process and pack it? Do they supply labels etc. that's the bit that would worry me.

    My bee project

Well I've had another look at them today and they are increasing in quantity but have not moved into the nuc yet. I've cat a larger hole in the nuc base and will have another look later in the week. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fe9UNPxR59w&feature=plcp
