    I thought it was time to put the mouse excluder’s on my 2 hives today, The first one, reducer out excluder on no bees, but the second one, as soon as I pulled out the reducer the bees poured out and were not best pleased (stung twice :cuss:)so will have to get the smoker out and try on Friday...

    I have just got back from my 2 hives at the bottom of the garden, my job today was to place a super that was on top of the BB to below and leave them till next year, boy were they angry, bees everywhere and now I,m waiting for them to calm down so I can put the reducer back

    Leave a a full super of honey for autumn?

    i am now in my 2nd year and last year we left a super on, the brood box had lots of stores and we fed fondant in the winter, by the time spring arrived and we did an inspection we found the bees had not touched the super so this year i may take all the supers as long as they have stores in the bb
