    Tom I know white wood is a Spruce, asking for white or red wood is a way of asking for a lesser or better grade of timber. White wood= sarking, studding,fenceing etc Red wood=standards, skirtings, faceings ect

    Hi Pete if you are looking for 50mm square from the merchants it would be rough sawn, planed would come out nearer 45mm square. Up here in Scotland you would ask for white wood or red wood (both pine) White being lesser grade, many knots,your red wood being much better grade few knots

    Do you plan to start Beekeeping this year ?

    Hi all Just got a confirmed place on the Edinburgh beginners course starting on Monday, over 30 applicants, still not decided what kind of hive yet but going to wards a Langstroth, will be visiting a couple of apiary's on the course so should give me a better idea. Keith
