I think the lighter ones are more likely to weather due to frost and damp when in direct contact with the soil. At least that's what my local builders merchants have insinuated when I've bought some. Pilates type exercises if 18kg is a deal breaker, a full super is not that much less.

Could you use smaller jars to shorten the time between jarring up clear honey (or warming it to get it liquid again) and finishing each jar.

And a US version which AFAIK predates the UK ones.

I have a Lyson heated 50l creamer, it's way more substantial than an extractor. Stirring set honey needs a lot of force and also generates some strong twisting forces. I don't think an extractor would withstand these.
