    Maisemore's online sale

    Just seen that Maisemores have had to pull out of Saturday's Welsh convention, so instead are having a two day (Saturday and Sunday) online sale instead - bonus for those who couldn't make the WBKA convention anyway. Bit of a bummer for those wanting to exchange wax though.

    Noticed a few weeks ago that there was serious nest building going on in the robin nest box fixed between the back of the chickenarium and the hedge. Had a peek as I was feeding the hens this afternoon and half a dozen eggs!

    Today is the saint's day of Modomnoc, patron saint of bees, beekeeper to saint David who on his return to Ireland was gifted bees by St David when they tried to follow him back home, thus Modomnoc also became the saint that introduced the first bees to Ireland

    C Wynne Jones 1935 - 2023

    Just had the sad news that C Wynne Jones of Ruthin died peacefully at home yesterday. A great supporter of beekeeping in Wales, and of course a household name in bee equipment supplies all over the UK. And his family are carrying on his legacy. Sincerest condolences to them all
