    Reacting to the bee stings

    I was stung above the right eye two weeks ago at the Lincolnshire bee auction. Not much pain but 24hrs later my eye was closed and the side of my face was swollen. Great amusment for the office but after 5 days I looked human.

    Had my first nervous look at the Bees I'd got at the Lincoln auction. They have drawn out a further 3 frames of foundation. Got very excited when I saw the new white comb. Didn’t see the queen but lots of capped and uncapped broad. Well that’s week one survived…

    What did you do in the Apiary today?

    Hi I bought a Nuc As a Newbee I felt I would be better off dealing with a Nuc rather than a full hive. Got my first sting at the auction above my right eye...didn't even have to pay for it. Now look like the elephant man. The bees were well behaved moving from the nuc into the new hive.

    Early bird catches the queen???

    As a newbee, so new I haven't got any bees yet although that may change at Lincoln this weekend if the prices are right. I have no objection adverse comments. I have no doubt that I will get things wrong in the first year or so just as long as the bees are happy and cared for Ill be happy...
