saw on beeb 2 this evening that in Manchester civic hall there are mosiac bees in the floor of Manchester Civic Hall, can anyone put any facts about the story? seen the same at a monestry in Cyprus, is it related to hard work or what? many thanks.

i have tried to introduce new queens, 2 in some cases, to queenless colonies, even nucs, with the usual introduction cages, even wrappped the emerging ends in double newspaper, it appears that after a certain amount of time, the bees will not accept a queen, under any circumstances. no done...

i have found some fields of clover but was told that the bees don't work it until its 70 degrees f or over, anyone got any facts on the idea? thanks for your contibutions.

went to retrive some queens from my apideas, on one frame a well developed, capped, queen cell and yes couldn't find any trace of a queen, no eggs but sealed brood. my only thought was has she swarmed, try to find that in an orchard with 120 trees!! anyone else known of a similar experience?

went into the bees to check on queen cells, took off those with eggs and larva in, following day noticed a swarm emitting from the hive, so i thought well ok, occassionally you can miss one, so hived the swarm, gave it week to see if i could find the opened queen cell. oh dear!!! by the way i am...

the first time i have ever witnessed this one, saw a nice queen during an inspection, on the 2nd frame, thought it was near the edge of the box but it did have eggs and larva on. thought i ought to go through the rest of the frames just to check on queen cups/cells and how many frames were layed...
