    Mouldy crownboard

    I get mould every year on my crown boards it doesn't seem to do any harm i just scorch the crown boards every time i see mould . I have noticed i hardly see it on my hives with open mesh floors maybe it has something to do with ventilation so i stick a match stick on each corner of the roof...

    Propolis news - well news to some

    I made my first little bottle of propolis, my daughter suffered from a stubbed toe and was pussing a bit i applied some propolis tincture onto the affected area and it sorted it out within a few days . i was surprised at how fast it healed whether it was the tincture or not i'm not sure .:seeya:

    Went to farm apiary this morning opened all hives gave all a good check over cleaned all top of frames. Also looked for new eggs and sealed brood plenty in all hives working like crazy and bringing in plenty of pollen yellow mainly . Its looking good for the new season lets hope the weather...

    ALIBABA they are made in china dirt cheap aswell but you have to buy in huge numbers like 250 but could be less they work out to be about £2.00 each i was quoted by a english maker £500.00 for 50 of the same thing told him to stick them where the sun don't shine.

    drstitson OMF nope one of a few without knew i should of changed them all i don't insulate any of my hives considering all bees should be 90dg inside the hive must be just bad damp my fault lesson learnt i guess .:redface:

    Went to far field today to have a look and noticed dead bees opened the hive up all gone and green mouldy frames . Oh well time for a fire and disinfect the hive damp got through must of been a weak colony oh well just gotta get on with it :(.

    I have a fair number of ply hives i just soak them in danish oil and leave them to dry out for a few weeks.
