Thanks for your support Tim, but I have got better things to do with my time than worry about some w****r misreading, misinterpreting or deliberately sniping at everything I say. Also, I have no intention of becoming a fully paid up member of the "Oliver90owner apreciation and arse licking...

    Bee inspector

Thanks to those asking me to stay, but I joined this forum thinking it would be a pool of information and knowledge, with possibly a sprinkling of humour. I certainly did not do so to be a 'Whipping Boy' for those with a personality disorder. I do have one parting question which possibly...

    Bee inspector

Enough I have had more than enough of the school yard mentality of some of this forums users. Needless to say I am refering to the self righteous, holier-than-thou, I have never made a mistake, brigade, and also their arse kissers. I will remove myself forthwith. I am sure some will say...

My appologies if my profile misleads people, unfortunately it is not something I think a lot about. I think it would be better if I upgraded it to "Gone", I am sure that would please some.

Just to correct a couple of points if I may. 1) I have been keeping bees for a lot longer than a few weeks. 2) You are making a few assumptioons, always a dangeropus thing to do. You are ASSUMING the bees I refered to were those supplied by another forum user. THEY ARE NOT. Do a little research...

Ah! I see. The mention of 'petrol' must have struck a nerve. I will try to be more sensitive.

    Bee inspector

False alram, all my fault Thanks for the good wishes. Pleased to say that I do not have EFB, DLQ or anything else. The inspector gave my bees and also my husbandry, 10 out of 10. So the matches can go back on the gas mantle and the petrol back into the Mother-In-Laws broomstick. My word...

    Bee inspector

The Regional Bee Inspector cometh forth today. I have symtoms of EFB. I have symptoms of DLQ. I also have half a pint of petrol and a box of matches. The question is, how far back do I stand before throwing in the match ?

    Wasp Trap bait

I lost a colony to wasps last year, (albeit a small one). I have it on good authority that wasps can finish off a colony in minutes. I don't know how true this is, but in your position I would not take the risk, and get some traps out pretty soon.

    Queen Excluder Orientation?

I've tossed my coin and it's come up heads. But I have forgotten if thats 'in line' or 'across'. Help !!

More advice, dead bees stuck in the QE

I think there are merits in all these posts. Personally I use the T*****s orange plastic excluders, ( the pre problem variety), where the rows of slots are staggered and not in line. I noticed that by having the slots in line with the frames meant some seams of bees were in line with a vurtually...

    People wanting free honey

Tell them that when Tesco give it away, so will you. Can't say fairer than that.

    New Beekeeper

Thank you Rosti and oliver90wner. If you would like to look at my post once again you will see that I am not offering any advice or opinion. I merely added my welcome to John and pointed out that sometimes ones opinion can get blown out of the water, something you have both clearly illustrated...

    New Beekeeper

Welcome to the forum John, it is a bit of a mine field. If you dare to share an opinion that does not align with some others, you will quickly be blown out of the water. But don't let this put you off. Good luck.

    Do wasps buzz?

Not sure if they buzz, but they might humm if they don't know the words. (Sorry).

    Feeding New Hive

I did that, but they still showed no interest. As they were running low on stores I tried the larger contact feeder, and, as I said, they went berserk for it.

    Feeding New Hive

Dear oh dear. I got it wrong again, tsk tsk. :beatdeadhorse5:

    Feeding New Hive

I hope not to confuse the issue, but as a P.S. to my earlier post, I tried feeding my nuc with a rapid feeder and they didn't touch it, but, as I said previously, given in a contact feeder and they scoffed the lot.
