Well, the T&M catalogue has just dropped on the doormat, and leafing through l see the tomato variety Maskotka listed. Despite initial resistance on my part, as recommended by others on this forum, I shall give them a try this year 😊
Ashamed to say one hive swarmed yesterday - lovely sunshine. Had not inspected for 14 days. However, as luck would have it I saw them go and followed to an accessible branch in my own hedge. Cut the branch and housed in a hive I had luckily prepared earlier! Lots of luck there.
I was a bit late starting syrup feeding this Autumn so am wondering if I can feed Candipolline Gold as the remainder of Autumn feed? Or might the pollen content over-stimulate the bees to produce brood at this time of year?
Hello Loubylou - beekeeper from Monmouthshire here! The soda crystals are just what are used for sterilizing a hive if blow torching isn't available. Washing soda crystals.. I made the solution up much stronger than instructions said, not sure if double or more - after all it was do or die...
