    Let's share our garden setups

Love it. I like the idea of a playground in the heart of the garden. But it's a pity that I have little space for that

With all the greenery in it, your garden looks huge. I like it. And the small pond. If I had more space, I would also like one. But doesn't it smell bad after a while?

Eco solution for keeping rodents away from hives

I read that all your cats are active. Why is mine so lazy and never say him hunting or never brought me a mouse at home. Still no more signs of rodents near hives. The spray has a great effect.

    Business plan

I'd suggest starting with a basic business plan structure. Customize it according to your unique needs for beekeeping, like equipment, hives, breeding, honey harvesting, and marketing. Personally, for marketing, I've found this Facebook adspy tool incredibly helpful. It's a tool that offers a...

Eco solution for keeping rodents away from hives

What kind of cat do you have? Is it a mini lion? :D I also got one, but he is so lazy that he never got any rats. I think he is afraid of his own shadow; that's why I searched for alternative solutions and found this spray that did its job.

Eco solution for keeping rodents away from hives

This might work. I think that the main effect is from the peppermint scent - I read that it deters rodents.

Eco solution for keeping rodents away from hives

Hey guys, I would like to tell you about this mouse repellent spray from Amazon that helped me get rid of rats. It's a great alternative to regular poisons that keep bees safe and deters rodents. One night at the beginning of September, I observed a few rats near my hives. The next morning, I...

I could change my mind about (European) Hornets, you know...

See my post here Unfortunately, I still have sparrows hawking here, and they have much larger appetites than hornets.

    Another strange spring

After a mild winter, local fields have OSR in bloom already, the meadows are covered in dandelions, blossom trees are getting past their peak, but my colonies have not yet built to a size to get the benefit of all that forage. What are you seeing?

It's beginning to look a lot like .. April.

The mild weather continues and It's almost 14C here today. The hives are very busy. There are a few drones flying and some wasps trying their luck. I have never seen that the other side of Christmas before.

It's beginning to look a lot like .. April.

I don't remember ever seeing hives so busy in mid December. Mine have a heavy stream of foragers from dawn to dusk, many arriving back with good loads of pollen, Dandelion and lord knows what else. And my IR thermometer reads 24 C when pointed at the brood nest through a perspex window. I'll...

    Merge coloniies using mesh?

The merge worked well using mesh, with no squabbling when it was removed. Framing the mesh like a QE would make it easier to handle if I was doing it regularly. I am not keen on the 'air freshener' method which I have tried before. Although I used it sparingly, It was there as an off-flavour...

    Merge coloniies using mesh?

Not so, unfortunately. The strongest is in box 2 &, 3 of 5, the weaker is in box 3 of 4. I plan to harvest honey at the same time too.
