I had a swarm mid september last year, the day I took the hive off the heather

At our association meeting yesterday, one of our experienced members stated that bees could be 'trained' to a water source by adding salt to the water. This is new to me. Any comments? True or balderdash?

I'm in Northumberland and have five strong hives confirmed queenless and broodless. Mated queens seem thin on the ground atm. Can anyone help?

pretty early for this part of the world. Weather has confused everybody (including Apis M). Queen clipped so massive cluster on hive front. Put them back but AS tomorrow weather permitting

Went down to mate's farm to check on progress of my bees on 125 acres of OSR. Drawing comb but nothing stored yet. Weather has been really cold this week. He told me that the evening after I dropped my bees off they had nine inches of snow. Good timing or what?

Carlisle was good last year. lots of gear at good prices and about 20 nucs, averaged about £120. I got two and they have been v good.
