    Attracted to salt?

At our association meeting yesterday, one of our experienced members stated that bees could be 'trained' to a water source by adding salt to the water. This is new to me. Any comments? True or balderdash?

Has anyone ever tried using Thorne's packaging material as smoker fuel?

I'm reluctant to use any cardboard. A lot of it is chemically treated either with preservative or fire retardant

Organising to Wear a Suit of Bees

Sir Quej. This forum is called the beekeeping forum. Ergo, it is about beekeeping. What you are rattling all our cages with has nothing whatsoever to do with beekeeping. Organising to Wear a Suit of Bees

You say you want to become an 'experienced beekeeper' before you try this stupid stunt. How do you, as someone who has zero experience of bees, define 'experienced'? One week? one month? one year? ten years? You also state, correctly, that bees are wild animals. They are. I know at least one...

What did you do in the Apiary today?

Went down to mate's farm to check on progress of my bees on 125 acres of OSR. Drawing comb but nothing stored yet. Weather has been really cold this week. He told me that the evening after I dropped my bees off they had nine inches of snow. Good timing or what?
