    I finally got my first colony of bees all installed and settled in. Is it best to remove the bottom board so that it just has the mesh? The weather at the moment in North Yorkshire is warm and humid but changeable.

    🙂 I’ve decided to be patient and follow my first plan, which is wait for a friend that I know who is splitting one of his hives. At least I’ll know they should be ok.

    A local beekeeper has messaged, he has a swarm captured and stored in two old supers with a lid and a bottom board. He said he can deliver and install the bees for £125. Is this too much to pay?

    Hello everyone, Brand-new to this and just got my first flat pack national hive. I’ve noticed the brood box doesn’t come with any metal runners… necessary or can I assemble it without? J
