    Death of Analogue

That would have been a real shame, that all plastic hive company had only just got off the ground!

    Apiary vandalism / animal rights

I can't imagine anything other than a sledgehammer or a vehichle with a front loader doing that to the concrete hive. I know freeze thaw cycles can crack concrete but that looks more like impacts to me. A large falling tree is possible, but given the lack of a tree or signs of one having been...

Just for some fun.... an excuse to smile.

I'm convinced mine fall into the same sub dimesnion that Douglas Adams described all the philips head screw drivers disappearing into.

    Thorne budget smoker recall

Ooofff, yeah thats nerve agent in a barrel. Had an old boy round with a mobile dip/ spray system a couple of years ago and he was constantly shaking like he was having some kind of seizure. Really glad that the worst stuff was phased out before my time.

    Thorne budget smoker recall

We used to throw chunks of the sheeting into fires as kids for the colours and occasional small explosion. Two of the three barn roofs are still made of it, although I'm told that as long as its not cracked or cut it isnt dangerous( I hope ). It's interesting how the wonder materials of...

Thanks E&M, I'd have missed that otherwise.

    How much?!

I had a go at that Sutty and found it a real PIA even with a few frames :ROFLMAO: Soon switched to one of those small screw driven fruit presses, easier and far more satisfying.

    Just what is the point?

They seem to have an uncanny ability to select the tenderest areas to feed on. Food for swallows and swifts or bats though I guess.

Swarms not as plentiful this year

Only the second swarm I've had this year so far but it looks a bit larger than the first. Sadly wasnt able to stick around to watch them finish going in as was going out for dinner, still amazing to hear and see them arrive though.

Swarms not as plentiful this year

A lot of interest in the swarm trap at home yesterday with a few scuffles breaking out at the entrance at one point. Hoping to have chance to see them arrive from distance similar to last year. I'd caught a few by this time last year but this is the first real interest that's been shown in any...
