    Honey Separating in the Jar

Am I correct in thinking that honey 'never' actually goes off and will remain edible for pretty much ever, due to its anti bacterial properties? Anyone tested that..? 😆

    Bees in my garage

Just happened to catch this little one leaving!

    Bees in my garage

Not a lot of activity this morning but I did see one bee - see video. A very small one; there have been bigger ones.

    Bees in my garage

Thanks! I'll keep an eye on any activity and in the meanwhile I'll try to get some pics to identify them, so I know what to do. The gap underneath the bottom shelf is only a few millimetres from the ground (or rather, the metal frame is, where the MDF shelf rests on), so I have no way of seeing...

    Bees in my garage

Thank you, I have done exactly that so far. They enter the garage through the small gap underneath the garage door, which I do occasionally need to open and use myself, which seems to temporarily confuse them a little! They've always come back so far :)

    Bees in my garage

Now I'm back home I'll have a look tomorrow if there's still activity, and try to take some pictures (or a video, but my phone keeps complaining when I try to take them... 😤)

    Bees in my garage

Sorry for the delay, I ended up away from home, ran out of data, and without the WiFi I was promised... I tried to attach a short video which failed, but this is one frame of it. Definitely not wasps, but I did notice different sizes of bees 🤔

    Bees in my garage

I wasn't sure where to post my questions, but since I'm not a beekeeper (yet - or am I? 😆), and since I'm new to the forum, this is probably as good a place as any. So, I've been having some visitors in my garage - that's what my questions relate to. I love seeing wildlife in my garden and...

    Hello from Edinburgh

Thank you! I can imagine that there are lots of people who are unable for numerous reasons to keep bees themselves, but would get a lot of joy from getting involved. I'm thinking that I wouldn't be allowed to keep bees myself, but I know that someone who keeps bees made an attempt to have a hive...

    Hello from Edinburgh

Thanks very much - I've never looked into the possibility of getting into beekeeping, but if there are associations that sounds like a great way of getting into it!

    Hello from Edinburgh

Thank you! Beekeeping isn't something I've considered possible for me at all, but it actually sounds like a very interesting past time, and above all it seems more and more important nowadays to give nature a helping hand and encourage any pollinators!

    Hello from Edinburgh

Hello everyone. I almost feel like a bit of a fraud signing up as a member and doing the official introduction, while I'm not a bee keeper and don't have the ability to start keeping bees at home. I would need to check the Deeds of our property, but I think there may be something mentioned in...
