Honey from a euthanised hive: safe for consumption?

I read & learn a lot here. A fantastic forum. The guys are very good. Erichalfbee said it best. "Why on earth did you not seek advice here?" You did not have to rush into instant action! As for your mentor, please do not attempt to absolve him. Why did they not "mentor" you at this point...

Thank you for all the replies. Just to share the love... The super took me 4 pound coins to wedge apart while working as round with the hive tool... that must be a record 🤣

    Fully braced brood

Gotcha.... But that is going to result in almost every frame being ripped apart. I was sort of hoping to get the bees to move..

    Fully braced brood

Do I need a different tool then... Thought of tipping it over and running a knife up the side.... But concerned for the queen?

    Fully braced brood

It's a British national and the frames are solid. Concrete. Braced frames to frame. I had to dig out the queen excluder...

    Fully braced brood

Thanks for a wonderful forum. I am a new beekeeper and am learning lots. And now I need some advice. I have inherited a hive, BN brood + 1 Super, that is fully braced (think concrete). I have separated it and inserted another super. I can cut the super apart when I remove it. But how do I...

    First inspection of the year.

@pargyle. "you should not open the hive until you can do it in shorts and a T-shirt has served most beekeepers very well." Thank you. New to me, but so easy to apply. Newbie (August '21) and habitual lurker 😁

Do most people use mouse guards or not?

I do use them. But never really know when it is best to remove?

    Skip diving 2024

The more important question is why it is on the bed?

    Honey dehumidifiers/driers

I reckon it would. That was my thinking. You could even add a 15w lamp to lift the temp a little.

Looking to purchase bees in the greater Manchester area for this spring

You are not alone if that helps... My local association seem to have trouble with the reply button. 😁 I have found this place a great source of info (been lurking for a while)... And some good books.
