    Poly hive colour

    Keeping supers on all year

    Does anyone leave the supers on all year ? Example , take off the supers from above the brood box and QE end of year , extract then nadir all said supers under the box until weather is warm again in spring , then reverse to put all supers back above? Logic being the honey not extracted gets...

    Moving hives

    Ive taken the plunge

    Been searching high and low for an extractor ,looked at all options , well.....happened to be driving past maisemore apiaries , went in for a 2 frame manual plastic , come out with a 9 frame radial /3 frame tang stainless 😂 Guess buy once buy good, plus the tang be handy for the dadant frames !

    DWV

    Just been to have a look at hive ,noticed some bees with DWV. Treated with apiguard in Aug and oxalic in December .Thinking of giving them 3 doses of oxalic sublimation a week apart.Any other ideas?

    Varroa treatment with empty supers

    Evening all Is there any issues treating for varroa with apiguard or similar whilst there are some empty supers on end of season?So for example an empty super that has been nadired end of the year to raise the nest off the ground and provide some space.
