Abelo poly hive, old style v new.

It certainly makes sense to have compatible hives. This is my first season and if I’m not careful I could waste a lot of money.

Abelo poly hive, old style v new.

Thank you for your input, I’ve brought a few cedar hives already. But recently fancied the poly hive by Abelo (temp management etc) I really appreciate your advice.

    Maisemore sale

I didn’t know anything about the sale, but ordered a hive at normal cost, then a week in I was told I’d be waiting a month. (After me calling them) I needed a hive so had to shop elsewhere and it arrived the day after.

    Hoffman super vs consolation frames

As above, as a new Beek, I’m a little confused as ordering hives from different suppliers, gives different options. So my Question yo you Noble people is. What is better Hoffman frames in a super or spacers. The Hoffman come in packs of eleven and consolation in ten’s? So I’m thinking the bee...

    So it began

Well guys, I ordered some Api-Bioxal and a syringe, I’ll get in and trickle them this time round. But I’m definitely going to look into Vaping for future treatments. There’s an old boy not too far from me who only powders his bees in Sugar as his sole treatment so I will be able to help him out...

I just watched a videos of the Varox, looks like a cracking bit of kit, right in my budget as well. I’ll look into the trickle method now. Are there any products / sellers more readily used than others? God bless you all

Firstly. Thank you all for the great comments. For a new Beekeeper I can’t tell you how invaluable to me. Would I be able to purchase a vape for oxalic acid sublimation for around £100 ? If so would that suffice until I could budget for a high end tool. Do you guys have any recommendations...

Funny enough I have only been watching the Norfolk honey Company. I’ve really enjoyed his Videos. Merrybee, I placed the swarm in the hive on Thursday last week, the plan was to feed them and leave alone for two weeks, when I would be going in to assess. They seem to be bringing plenty in...

Thanks E&mbees, I hope the challenge was all worth it in the end, I’m sure it has been. Yes it’s a great forum, some great people at the forefront. The search button has become my friend of late 😂 In fact I’ll go and search recommended YouTube channels to follow. All the best D

Oh ok, that makes a lot of sense, so if I fill the large feeder, the hole should be a the front of the hive centra. I’ll get that on. I’m going to try and source some invert ASAP. Thank you.

Unfortunately not. Covid meant that last years lessons haven’t been completed yet. So I haven’t been able to join the local club. Hopefully that will change soon. I don’t use social media at all. Looks like you’re stuck with me. Jokes aside, I don’t want to be asking silly questions all the...

Ah ok, that makes sense, as it’s hefty. I wish I knew more people in my area, a group buy would be right up my street

Thanks again. It’s nice to know there’s some good guys on here with good intentions for a new Beekeeper. It is a Rapid feeder I’m using, albeit a small one. I have been gifted a large one but the whole is on the end of the crown board as opposed to the Center, that didn’t sit well with me for...
