    When to requeen a colony

I have read or been told that the time to requeen is Autumn, however this strikes me as odd as you must then overwinter a new queen. Why not requeen in March/April and give the new queen the best months to get established.

    Queen cell no swarm

At least ten, capped queen cells however bees did not swarm, next inspection queen cells gone. I am wondering what happened, some nice days where they could have swarmed, many bad wet cold days.

    Is the hive queenless

Does it always mean that if there is no brood and no eggs that the hive is queen less, do they ever just have a break from laying. Also if when dribbling Oxalic acid you...

Hello forum I have been keeping bees for 3 years now and started by attending a course in the UK. Competent at the regular tasks however I would say I am not a successful bee keeper. For example no honey in the supers this year, I do not take any from the brood box. I tried very hard this year...

    Top bar hive

Last year I bought a top bar hive, talked into it by a contact. He failed to tell me that they do not automatically follow the bars, and yes I now have a hive full on inaccessible diagonal combs:paparazzi: So why am I sharing this with the whole world, simply because I do not know what to do...
