8 drawn frames & 4 frames of brood, the temprature has been around 18c most days, the other hive emptied all & they are smaller. Struggling to see my messages in the group for some reason ?

Any thoughts please as to why a hive has not touched api life var? Never had that before

The queens have been openly mated, one hive has a 2023 queen the other a 2024 queen, neither are marked but can be marked if preferred. The predominately Carniolan bees in my apiary are very calm, I rarely use smoke during inspections & are more hardy to our weather. Cost for 5 frames of bees...

Why? Even though the storage is new over summer?

The hive are on double brood

OA was applied last winter and 2x formic pro this year due to a very high V count, the brood box was placed above the QE. Some of the frames I am able to extract but your thoughts please on extracting some frames from last year that had OA, there has been no brood in these frames.

With wet supers sterilisation I have used acetic acid in the past, your thoughts on freezing please?

Prior to extracting I did do the shake test this year & have done the same previous years but measured after as a new refractometer arrived to find the honey was over 22%, I gave the honey a stir with all coming out at 18%. At this stage I am not 100% sure my refractometer was set correctly...
