    The dreaded Varroa???

It's bees first.. Think I'll go with Apigard for the month and maybe put that hive to heather later on. If they put honey in the super(Q has been put down in brood box), Ill use it to feed bees. Thanks to all for your help. :-)

    The dreaded Varroa???

I haven't done an actual coun, but was marking the Queen and she had 1 on her back. I also saw 2 bees with DWV, so I removed some drone brood and there was a lot in there. I would suspect when I see DWV that the count will be high. Could I use Thymol crystal? There is a super on at the moment...

    Ups and Downs

After all the trouble with swarming I've had this year, it's so uplifting to find 3 newly mated and laying queens. On checking a few days ago, we find one of the new mamas is being superceded. There is larvae but no eggs and 1 superceder cell. I checked again today to find some emergency cells...

    Queen Cells

I would keep a very close eye on them. Give them more foundation if you can. Check in a few days. I've had 3 hive swarm with just eggs in cups and just charged cells. AS maybe on the cards to be on the safe side.

    funny looking QC ?

rouge drones abusing my Q's. Have another hive with black orange and waspie ones

    funny looking QC ?

This hive swarmed today and it's the only thing that resembles a Qc. Couldn't find anything else. Surely she wouldn't swarm and leave nothing coming on?

    funny looking QC ?

thanks guys. Redwood, this a sealed Qcell with Qcup built onto the bottom of it. Will she be able to emerge from this?

    funny looking QC ?

I had a huge swarm today that we have caught and hived. When I went back throuhg the original hive, I found 1 QC that I missed. It is embedded in the foundation with a Qcup attached to the end of it. Any ideas? And am I right in thinking they will build more more Qcells now they are queenless??

    Queen cell question(s)

Aha. Hello. Nuala here. think we're working up to a busy time of it. The colonies I saw the QC' s don't have many drones and not much coming on in any hive, although all hives are drawing drone cells in the supers. I've given the trouble makers some drawn foundation and will squeeze in a Drone...
