    Moving bees

    Morning all I need to move 5 gives approximately 80 metres. I know the best way would be to move them over 3 miles first for a week and then bring them back, but is there another way? I know the weather is warming up, but could I wait for a few cool days and shut them in for a day or two...

    Ok I'll make up a nuc. I have to keep it the same apairy though. Will any bees I shake in just go back to the original hive? Also if I leave a queen cell, won't the original hive just swarm again if she is in fact there?

    Help needed

    My big colony have just started to swarm and landed under their hive. I went to box them up and have left the box under the hive but they seem to be going back into the original hive. I've just opened up the original hive and found 5 sealed Queen cells I obviously missed. I can't see any eggs...

    Thank you both. I think I'll give a frame of eggs and do the scraping thing, unfortunately I've only ever seen her since she's quite elusive! If I can find her I'll remove her.

    Hi all, I have a colony that I bought as any a year ago. They are very small, the Queen was laying in a good pattern last year but only on a couple of frames. Out of 11 frames in the brood box they have only 8 drawn! As a beginner I didn't really know how long this should take. I fed them...
