    Restoring an Extractor

Well after an initial good clean I have replaced all the nuts and bolts for stainless equivalents, painted the frame, added castors and manufactured the lids from perspex. Pleased with the results. As a bonus with the flow on in the Forest of Dean there might actually be a decent amount to extract!

    Restoring an Extractor

Thanks for the input all, have just ordered some pre-cut polycarbonate semi circle pieces that should replace the lids.

    Restoring an Extractor

Thanks, any idea if the same would apply to the underside of the lids? My intention was to wirewool the tarnish off and give them and a wipe over with some cooking oil to stop any rust/tarnish forming again. I have just stripped off the legs and motor and ordered stainless steel, nuts, bolts and...

    Restoring an Extractor

Afternoon all, I recently started a thread about importing a new a new radial extractor until a slight change of plans when I saw a second hand one for sale at a good price. Ended up doing a bit of a road trip to collect, it's an old one but is in good working order. The drum, cage, shaft and...

    Honey jars

I was nervous about them not taking 12oz but as they look small but full to the bottom of the threads they definitely do. https://www.bottlecompanysouth.co.uk/275ml-hero-jar-cw-66ml-twist-off-lid-p-1949.html https://www.howmany.wiki/vw/--275--ml--of--honey--in--ounce

    Importing direct from Konigin

They appeared to have no issues when approached by email. Their website gives the option to purchase in sterling and let me get as far as putting my postcode in to confirm delivery. Didn't actually go as far as putting in payment details though.

    Importing direct from Konigin

Many thanks all. Have now spoken Konigin direct and feel a little bit more reassured after they have broken down the figures. If as detailed their 20 frame radial delivered to the UK comes in as todays current exchange rate as £475 + £18.50 import duty+£18 clearance fee+£91 VAT=£602...

    Importing direct from Konigin

Morning all, Has anyone had experience of ordering directly from Konigin to the UK since Brexit. I am tempted ordering direct rather than from Thornes or OCH as even after paying I presume 20% VAT on arrival it is still a saving of £100 plus on the 12 frame electric extractor. Please feel free...

    Afternoon all from the Forest

Been lurking for a while so thought I would introduce myself briefly. Its sort of a return to bee keeping after helping parents with 20+ hives through childhood, but there has been a gap of best part of twenty years. Have gradually persuaded her in doors that keeping bees is the way to go, and...
