I'm looking to re-use some of my frames from last year in this year's supers. But the wax seems very fragile and crumbles at the touch. Can the bees do anything with this? Or should I start from scratch with new frames?
Previously (this is my third year) I've overwintered bees with supers on. I'm feeding my colonies at the moment and treating with Apiguard. My question is this: providing the bees are properly fed do I need the super? Is it ok to overwinter a colony in a National brood box alone ? (All right...
