Anyone build their hives out of pineboard/lamwood? Any thoughts, seems to be more popular in Eastern Europe but not mentioned on here

With the apimelter/melliflow can you just put frames of crystallised honey straight into melt or do the combs have to be cut out first?

Half thinking of buying one ATM. All hives here are on mesh floors on pallets, can it be done from under the floor or does the floor have to be sealed? All floors are homemade and wouldn't work great using the entrance. Also no inspection tray so would be a pain to seal up omf.
