    Grass snakes

    Just found an adult grass snake in a compost heap very close to my hives. Can anyone advise me if this might become a problem and if so, apart from getting rid of the snake (which I'm loathe to disturb) offer any thoughts please? Thanks

    Queenless hive

    Thanks everyone, I don't have a nuc so I'll get some frames out and insulate. The swarm was about the size of a small pineapple so yes, I'm convinced it was a caste.

    I'm a novice in my first year and I collected a small swarm locally on Saturday 31st and re-hived it successfully (or so I thought).
