    Show stand...any tips?

Used stickythings.co.uk for printing, they have a basic label builder or upload your own file. Think it starts at 15p/label for 100, drops off the bigger the run to 9p/label for 1000 waterproof matt vinyl. I hadn't used them before but print quality is excellent.

    Show stand...any tips?

Mostly an ancient version of photoshop, but it's been adjusted in an assortment of things including MS Paint. Jars are 293ml from Wares of Knutsford, they had a deal on for 100 with lids and free delivery for £59 that is still available.

    Show stand...any tips?

People seem to think they are pretty, and like square buckets, makes space-saving sense. And jam...oh my word...we have cupboards full of homemade cherry/strawberry/plum...you're right, should have taken some. Next time!

    Show stand...any tips?

😁 I'm constantly tweaking it but credit for the design of those goes to wife, I might swap out the yellow for gold and see what that looks like, but they didn't cost much more than you'd pay for the 1950s design you get from the usual places. Top tip, picked up on this forum, go with "Best...

    Show stand...any tips?

Well it was a long day for them but the girls done good! After too much rum on Sunday a mad idea got dragged into Monday, and the offer of a stand on Tuesday meant 2 days of panic that has left Victoria and Nichola shattered but they had a great day doing it. There were many great ides and...

    Show stand...any tips?

Certainly have! Thanks all, and great stands you and Gregor have, both very impressive! And looking at yours I was reminded to take something to put taster spoons in. Although I fear by comparison ours might be a little underwhelming, but enthusiastically manned so fingers crossed it goes well...

    Show stand...any tips?

Different hives, different locations, different nectar source? I've got hives in different sites so blending it all together looses something of the differences I like in taste and colour, Although I take your point on consumers might ask questions about it. Isn't that one of the things about...

    Show stand...any tips?

I had a look at BBKA today after JBMs suggestion, £30 direct, a local association is £27. It goes up slightly dependant on hive numbers. Neither is going to be completed soon enough so if I need to it will be something like National Market Traders Federation membership. So far jars are prepped...

    Show stand...any tips?

Never joined an association so it was a quick check, don't have cover that way. Could be the thing that finally makes me join one.

    Show stand...any tips?

Some great suggestions, thank you. I will have capped frames so will take one, and like the idea of using supers as display shelves. Didn't think of taking smoker or gear but will dress the stand with paraphernalia and books. And acrylic price stand ordered. One thing I might have completely...

    Show stand...any tips?

There's a local agricultural/farmers fair in two days and I've been offered a stand. I've never done one before, have nothing except honey, wax, a few candles and a wife who's prepared to sell on my behalf because I'll be at work, so not prepped and little time to do any. Any show veterans able...

Thornes electric 3 frame tangential spinnee

I have the same extractor and the speed ranges from very slow to faster than you'd ever use. Haven't blown a frame (yet). Does sound like a dodgy controller. Give them a call, their customer service is pretty good in my experience.

Honey from a euthanised hive: safe for consumption?

Killer bee gets in boot and stings me, so I killed the hive. Bonkers.

Attracting swarms - what are the odds?

Is there a local pest controller you could approach to let them know you're available for swarm collection? Spring is on the horizon, they will almost certainly be called out to a "wasp nest" that will be bees in the next month or two. I've been lucky enough to find a local pest controller...

    Honey prices?

Yes I thought it was a low retail. It is local honey he is selling, approx 15 miles from his shop, mine is about 2 miles but I'd guess both would be considered local. He sells around 100 jars a month, so they wouldn't be sitting round taking up shelf space, but perhaps his selling price is why...

    Honey prices?

Hello all, A local deli is interested in taking my surplus honey and asked what I want for it, thing is I've no idea what to charge. He retails 1lb jars at £5-75 and I'll have 70-100 jars to sell. I quite like the idea of offloading it all in one go, just no idea what a fair price would be...

    Bees in a cello

This might just be the maddest idea I've seen...I'd post a link or photo but a can't as a newbie. A swarm "encouraged" into a cello (tuned to the key of C, probably for crazy). Not sure how you'd inspect, treat, fed or harvest this hive but at least you get the noise added to a concert...

Nucs for sale - Burton on Trent

Hello, I'm returning to beekeeping after having to take a break from it for a few years and I'd like a nuc if you still have any available. I'm in Nottingham and am able to collect. Thanks, Kristian.
