    BeePlus record keeping app

Hi Andy, I’ll pass this on to my husband. He’s just released ‘Bee2 (bee squared) beekeeping assistant’ as a new and improved app going forwards but whilst not updating bee plus will still be maintaining it for the time being. Glad you’ve been enjoying it so far 🙂

Equipment Wanted Wanted - 6/7 year old beekeeping suit

I’m after a good quality child’s beekeeping suit - ideally to fit a tall 5 year old and last so 6/7 year old size. My daughter is desperate to see the bees but thought I’d ask after a second hand one before buying new. Thank you!

What did you do in the Apiary today?

Today I did my first inspection and transfer of Nuc to hive after a nearly 4 year break from beekeeping. It’s good to be back!

    Paynes or Maisemores Poly Nuc

I like the maisemore ones, have never used paynes to compare though. No sticking of roof to box, no built in feeder to mess with, buy the ones with the 14x12 eke, come with a miller style feeder, no issues. Really like the fact that you can buy extra brood boxes\supers\travel screens\floors...

The bees love my father in law!

They liked to sting my husband when they were in the garden, but never bothered me, personally I think it was down to the lumberjack esq beard he's got going on and they may think he's a bear :p

    BeePlus record keeping app

As long as you have allowed notifications from BeePlus in the settings app then an alert should pop up automatically at the date and time set.

    Collecting swarms

Collected two swarms on Monday, one from my Bosses' garden, the other from a neighbour of the person who's field I used to keep bees on before he sold it. One in a tree, other other hanging off a garden table, only casts but in nucs and doing well. Just word of mouth and very happy to get them...

    Looking for agressive colonies

How aggressive is aggressive? Are there certain things you are looking for as I know some keepers have bees that make life nearly impossible compared to those that just like to follow and are a bit more feisty?

    A new study

The only thing I have experienced so far in my first year beekeeping has been varroa and associated DWV. Despite all haves having the same treatment one seemed to be failing and I'm sure it would have died out without help.
