Metallic ball from my extractor is lost

I use liquid honey: no contamination, easy washable.

    Warming cabinet temperature

Oh...Thanks. I see your point now. I`m sure this way it works just fine. Thanks for the tip :^) But In my case, when honey is in jars and labeled, the warming cabinet is the best way forward ;^)

Metallic ball from my extractor is lost

Thanks a lot, my friends. I used to use ebay though :^) But never thought it will send me so far buck in my memories... When I`ve seen this, trying to find the ball...

    Warming cabinet temperature

I never stated that the water bath the damage does( hah...It`s poetry :^) It`s the metallic heaters that I blame ;^) (If they heat the honey...not the air )

Metallic ball from my extractor is lost

The metallic ball from my extractor is lost. It`s 10mm ball. Im sure I coud get it from a bearing to replace the lost one. The question is how and where I could find such a bearing/ a ball... My first thought was - a scrapyard... But I do not mind any other ideas. Please share if you got...

    Warming cabinet temperature

No how. It`s just another good tip of how to warm up the honey properly, if temperature is under your control :^)

    Warming cabinet temperature

Thermostatically controlled jammaker/preservers are not good for honey imho, as their therm-surfices are the way too hot and damage the contacting honey. The proper warming cabinet is essential... My temperatures for summer honey are 40-42`C, and I do not warm it up until November-december (no...

Is it worth setting swarm traps?

As I used to blow up a brain of some brainiacs here a good while ago, I `m happy to repeat this exercise again :) Big no no to swarms catching, because : 1) Swarming is genetically determined factor. The clever big scale beekeepers select and rare the queens only from non-swarming hives...

trick of the week: beebeeka opens hives :)

Bad news. Frosts for almost every single night in February did not leave any chance for my smallish 2-frames colony to survive(Hive №2 accordingly ). The main reason of dead is a combination of diseases, though. Broun feces on frames and rapid shrinkage of the colony during last couple of...

trick of the week: beebeeka opens hives :)

Ok ladies and gentlemen. Here beebeeka drives again :) Why drives? Because our small children call a car – beebeeka :) (beebee – a sound of a horn :) ) Thus, having no relation to BBKA I find the coincidence amusing. End of story :) Now. Let` s get back to our business ;) As I said...

Ok. It`s obvious that many do not simply take an effort to read my post with an attention to details. I know, my texts are not easy to understand as English is not my native language. And actually, one of the purposes why I type them is to improve my skills in it ;) … Looking at some posts of...

trick of the week: beebeeka opens hives :)

I`m afraid there is no one who`ll be able to answer your question but me :) While I`ll prefer to wait a bit more to give a reliable answer. The only thing I see so far that bees in hives with moisture on CB are more proactive than those with dry once… The strength of the colonies is about the...

trick of the week: beebeeka opens hives :)

Afternoon, ~7C` Did you ever trickled oxalic acid solvent at Christmas Time? …Are they all died? ;) Take a notice, I do not state that resetting crown board once a month is necessary… I state I feel a need. It means I gonna look for a better balance if it`s available, as I did not came...

trick of the week: beebeeka opens hives :)

Just emerge that you left all 10 frames for a colony occupying only 3 frames of stores( Hive №8 in my example). When it would be easier for them to maintain a proper temperature for brood rearing? In a big room, or in a small one? Propolis disturbance is unavoidable anyway if you treat them...
