Not the same building I understand, but into a single somewhat larger hall

    Beetradex -anyone going?

I understand it will always be on the first Saturday in March.

Stoneleigh March 2014 non BBKA Event

Well, there will always be a clash sometimes. I was very impressed with the number of traders going to Stoneleigh, although I notice there are few charities.

Stoneleigh March 2014 non BBKA Event

I don't think it's a commercial interest, just honest opinions from those who know both sites.

Tony Grey from Fragile Planet has been mentioned previously for the Beekeeping Trade Exhibition.

Now the BBKA Spring Convention is at Harper Adams they have to follow the main holidays, there is no half term at such places. Personally I think early March is best, if it's a fine April day people will want to look at their bees. The 1st of March is the Saturday obviously, I suggest the first...

£4.00 in advance and £5.00 on the day, all as now advertised in Bee Craft. Cheap I would say.

From adverts I understand there will be lectures, presumably in the Wolfson Theatre which in the past has been over subscribed and can be too hot - let's hope it's a cold, dry, sunny day! I've been going the Spring Convention for some 35 years.

No, quite simply from those of us in Suffolk and indeed anyone in the South East Stoneleigh is somewhat nearer with halls with carpets and the rooms not cold or damp.

Ask the traders whether it was cold or damp. The only reason there was food inside the halls was quite simply there were fewer traders in 2013 than 2012, i.e. after only one year at Harper Adams traders were stopping to come. Look at the brochures for the two years.

Stoneleigh March 2014 non BBKA Event

I very much doubt the venue will be changed annually. Central London is a long way form most of the country. To get exhibition facilities any where in the home counties would be more expensive than Stoneleigh. Several years ago an inquiry was made at the National Exhibition Center and the cost...

Stoneleigh March 2014 non BBKA Event

If you live in North Wales of course Harper Adams would get your vote, however most beekeepers live in southern England which makes Stoneleigh nearer. There will be more traders at Stoneleigh than at Harper Adams, I mean traders as opposed to charities. If you want to buy well with cheap access...

Stoneleigh March 2014 non BBKA Event

I was there in 2012 and there was a bad flood which meant duckboards had to be put under stands. Overnight a trader's book pages were turning due to the dampness, another lifted a box on the Saturday and the wet bottom fell out. In 2013 it was cold, damp, dirty and badly lit and access was bad...
