    Bought a Roughneck pallet buster and a Triton thicknesser to help with the mass production of the kit making this winter. I reckon by using pallets instead of DIY store timber, they will pay for themselves by Christmas.

    I bought a huge sheet of black damp proof membrane, really thick plastic sheet and cut my crown "boards" from that works out a pence each

    A classic case of looking at bee's [in this case] through another species eyes and trying to overlay onto them, another species perception of logical. If you need to see it in action, tip out a hive with a DLQ and you will observe the bee's find another home. Some bees do it immediately others...

    An alternative approach you could take to answer your question, is to research it yourself if you feel as strongly as you obviously do, that it doesn't occur as opposed to the other party proving their statement? ...........Just saying

    I always smile nod sagely and thank the bee gods every time I see another fool put their hives close to a gate and can be seen from the road year round. Why......... Cos the thieving scum aint nicking mine.

    TBH I stopped inspecting some time ago as the necessity, for me, isn't there. Was there a particular reason why you needed to inspect?
