....scratches the cappings of broodbox stores expecting the bees to take it upwards? If that does work, it can't be good if the bees have been fed any form of sugar since the combs were all last renewed.

    Bees chucking out brood?

I'll refer you to this relatively recent discussion..... @Boston Bees is the sage one on this. That thread also shows that you need to choose carefully from whom you take advice: https://beekeepingforum.co.uk/threads/supers-and-varroa-treatment.51424/#post-787559 The makers of the product do...

From what they have reported of their ailments here, most forum members were around when the Wright brothers made their first flight. ;)

Should we leave varroa board under the Mesh Floor in winter?

I approve of your edit as there was an intended tone of sarcasm in my voice. ;) But specifically with regard to the "Yes/No" issue of the retention of the inspection board, it increasingly looks likely that you just have to believe one of three factions of beekepers' opinions on this matter. I'm...

    My most regular customer

It's good that you obviously show a lot of patience with "Brenda" and you deserve respect for that. But I hope this repeated abuse of your customer-service department doesn't leave you out of pocket. She's a smart cookie for pulling you up on the "trick" of filling smaller jars. ;) Maybe you...

Should we leave varroa board under the Mesh Floor in winter?

...because, in context, it was asked...... ...and someone even answered with the currently accepted view that, "Perhaps it would be better to say that top ventilation is the secret to bad overwintering." ;) :banghead: I don't think anyone is entitled to an answer and neither am I criticising...

Should we leave varroa board under the Mesh Floor in winter?

Same here; There are some technical explanations, recently linked to above, which you may have missed, which may go some way towards explaining it: Should we leave varroa board under the Mesh Floor in winter? I know there is no oblication on anyone to explain it in detail, but generally, I...

    Winter bees

That's an excellent interpretation; basically, it means there probably isn't a point at which all bees produced are fully winterised and neither will there be an exact point at which they are all produced as the regular variety.

Wasn't this referring to Solomon Parker, who I think identifies as a man? .....or have they made an additional announcement?

What caused my colonies to fail?

It all made sense to me. 😀

What manipulations are you planning to try as a beginner.

Does that not also slow down colony increase when the primary intention of the procedure is, to keep the colony expanding whilst avoiding swarming?
