Hi from a school in the midlands

Don't know if Kidderminster Beekeepers might know someone who will help or maybe Worcestershire Beekeepers which they are affiliated to. Alisons as mentioned before are fairly local and may be able to get involved. Best of luck. Steve (in Stourbridge).

    Honey labels

If the other person has been using the same name for less time than you then surely etiquette dictates that they should be the ones to change the name. I'm old and grumpy so I'd probably stand my ground or possibly change my label by adding something like "The Real, Only, Best or maybe Original"...

Swarms not as plentiful this year

Absolutely no interest in any of my 6 swarm boxes so far. Nil, zilch, zippo. No calls either. West Midlands.

    Beekeeping Show 25th

I did. Having built 2 previously with some degree of success but with faults to iron out the bee vac at the show looks like it addresses them for the most part. I discussed it with SWMBO and she encouraged me to try one. Probably because 6 weeks ago I had a 'dispute' with the table saw and came...

    Sales

Spent 600 quid, and I was trying to be careful. Could easily have doubled that if I brought everything else that I liked.

    Honey buyers scarce

It's not always a bad thing when more than one seller at the same venue has the same product on offer. Potential customers often feel like it's worth taking a punt on visiting because of the increased chance of one of you being there particularly when they have a choice in your market or another...

Any scouts at your swarm trap?

    Bees in a roller

Could you attach a cone to stop returning bees entertaining that leads to a tube joining your nuc. Foragers would have to use this tunnel arrangement, reorient themselves and on returning Could only get as far back in as the nuc.

    Equipment Wanted Wanted: Bee Suit

I thought that for the discount price I'd give it a punt. I'm relatively new so perhaps not so informed as most on here but anyway... I went for the Zonda for the ventilation during the hot weather. Size xl. I'm 5'10"tall, 40" waist chubster Grandad. The price is competitive with the discount...

    Extractor part names

Use a nut put partly on to the shaft with your bolt extension also partly on the other side of the nut and tighten up. A more cylindrical type nut might be available to make it easier.

    Warning Signs?

You could accept responsibility for any sting to anyone else as long as they can prove beyond all doubt that they were stung by a bee that did in fact belong to you and not by one that didn't belong to you. You can argue that Bees squatting in one of your hives do not belong to you. 😝😝😝

    New Beekeeper

Thanks for the advice. I do have options to move the bees to quickly. Hope I never have to but can't hurt to have a plan. My garden is quite sheltered with plants and buildings and I have no plans to announce to the wider world that I have a new hobby. I don't have any neighbor's from...

    New Beekeeper

Hi, I've just started to get set up with my first hive and discovered this forum so thought it might be a good idea to join. I've always been fascinated by honey bees and ever since watching them while at school wondered if it was feasible to keep them. At 58 I've finally taken the plunge...
