    thanks for the tip on facebook groups ... dont know how successful it is selling through that ... but worth a try I guess not really allowed to have an account as my wife isnt a fan of FB ! auctions/spring fairs ... sounds a bit more time intensive and time is one of my enemies !

    I have an electric fence and run a cable to power it for our garden hens But now the fox knows about the fence it never bothers it ... even when the power was off for a few weeks so you could well power off a car battery for a few weeks to educate the fox (and hens !) The fence is high enough...

    Agree .. down here in sunny sutton (surrey) its the same but I always worry about feeding fondant (spoked by comments from our northern cousins but haven't needed to in my first few years doing this. (poly double brood and double kingspan on top of the lid)

    Having a sort out in the apiary and the current paynes hives are sat on two large wooden sleepers but there isn't much air circulation up into the OMF as the sleepers dont have a gap between them ... so unlike a stand I wonder how much air flow there is (tbh they have been happy enough there for...

    Drove back from gatwick the other day and a lovely set of ~20 hives in an apiary in a hill/field off the northbound M23 headed towards the M25 seems well organised and was a lovely sight to see !

    qq what is the problem with pollen in the cut comb ... must admit I got a lot of cut comb last season (still in the freezer) using foundationless frames (lolly sticks) and didnt really consider this pollem point
