    The sun has got his hat on

    My garden hive bees were very busy today, some bringing pollen and nectar, presumably from ivy. The rest were all over the greenhouse, drinking water from the gutter and sucking it from moss on the roof. I'd never seen so many drinking at the same time. Fortunately they were good natured.

    Sugar.

    I bought a rapid feeder for both my hives and am feeding a solution of 2kg sugar in 1 litre of water (winter feed). Professional kit and sugar solution as recommended in this forum. The bees love it and I am refilling every other day. They must have been starving but are now filling the brood...

    Garden beekeepers: What are your bees foraging on?

    Hypericum (St John's wort) popular at the moment- lots of bright yellow pollen. On clay in Cleveland. Good crop of brambles this year, like the previous posts, but now going over.
