First Attempt at a Queencell incubator. Cabinet made from offcuts of 6mm ply that I had left over from making crown boards. The controler was made from parts that i had laying around.

Having read this thread and thinking that rearing some queens next year would be a good idea, I have decided to have a try at making my own incubator. Just one question for the experts, how accurate does the temperature control need to be, is + or - 1c ok or does it need to be better controlled...

I would put the nuc entrance as close as you can to the wbc entrance and they should be ok as they will be able to see the light. only problem may be if they get 'lost' between the wbc outer and the nuc when returning. Hi Mandy, May be worth checking to see if the nuc will fit inside the outer body of the WBC. If it will then put the WBC in the place that the nuc is, remove the inner boxes from the wbc and stand the nuc on the floor of the wbc with something under the back to tip it forward a little to help...

UPS have found it. Seems that its still in the back of a lorry at Tamworth waiting to be driven to Dartford. Been there since the 2nd, seems they have a bit of a backlog because of the weather. They think its stuck there untill next week :(

Hi Mark, Have had a dig around in the shed and found a motor from an old bench drill. Spec: 240V single phase. 1/5 HP 1420 RPM 150 Watts. Has a multi position pulley on the shaft and flat mounting plate. Yours if any good to you. Kev

I needed a motor last year for a project, turned out to be cheaper to buy a cheap bench drill and take the motor off of it. Had a nice set of pullies already fitted too. Kev
