    Ian, it's the "wide range of products" and times that's my problem. Our longest-standing local beek "never uses OA" [I think he meant sublimation] and we have an even longer-standing, though wobbling a bit these days, member of local BKA who seems not to treat for varroa at all these days...

    Oxalic Acid

    We're about to sublimate OA soon [per David the apiarist advice] but I am aware, from dealing with rather crazy nuclear scientists, that inhalation is very different from ingestion. I believe inhalation of oxalic acid vpaour or sublimate is the main problem?

    <Long ago now but I believe Nitrogen Tri-Iodide was produced in my school chemistry lab by a couple of sixth formers. Would that be worthy of field trials?> -- I did that at school in Sheffield in 1966, ammonium tri-iodide, "exploding" doorhandle and footprints on to the assembly stage.......

    Using CO2 is apparently the humane, i.e. non-bee-lethal, method. Alcohol etc kils them. Kills me, too.o_O:sleep:

    Has anyone on here tried the "Varroa Easycheck" product available from Thornes, with [or without?] CO2 ? I don't trust my "inspection trays"........
