When to inspect after introducing new queen

I don't mean that you shouldn't poopoo bad advice. But I would certainly find it more helpful if you provided some good advice as an alternative, or at least expand on why you are poopooing something. For example, I've even asked you direct questions in the thread to try and get a better...

When to inspect after introducing new queen

did you shake out the laying workers first or just go straight to add the open brood frame and queen?

When to inspect after introducing new queen

Yeah, I had read that because their ovaries swell they are heavier and can't fly. But that makes no sense because they can fly with masses of pollen in their baskets that has got to weigh more than some slightly bigger ovaries. I assumed therefore that the laying workers were choosing not to...

When to inspect after introducing new queen

Do you have any constructive advice to add to this thread? You seem to be an experienced beekeeper, so no doubt have a lot of useful knowledge. But struggling to see you adding anything helpful in this thread, just poo-pooing what other people say.

So you think it was a drone laying queen then?

When to inspect after introducing new queen

Why would there be a queen in the hive if there is laying workers? Wouldn’t the laying workers have killed that queen?

When to inspect after introducing new queen

I did have a look to see if that was the case but I couldn’t see her in there

When to inspect after introducing new queen

It’s not the only place that has given this advice (there is plenty of contradictory advice too). After I introduced the new queen there was still a cluster of a couple hundred bees where I had shaken them on the grass. Some were buzzing about, most were just clustered on the grass. There is...

When to inspect after introducing new queen

Hi All I have searched the forum but haven't found an answer to my specific question, so hope I don't upset anyone by posting again if it has been asked previously. I introduced a new queen to my hive last weekend (9th Jul) after dealing with laying workers, how long should I wait before...
