    Feeding RAW sugar

    i read about giving them raw sugar somewhere so i tried it in my top bar hive, it has a solid floor so i just split a 1kg bag length ways and set it down on the hive floor and gid it a squirt with water and it went quite fast but if i give them syrup they won't touch it

    as long as the hive is water tight the rain shouldn't be a problem, it rains all the time in England and it never does any damage to my hive

    i'm not sure how true that is but i'm sure someone will let us know but i think the bees would fly to any suitable site depending on stores they have and the age of the bees etc also there could be some wild bees in your area

    hi guardian, you could always attempt to attract a swarm of bees with a bait hive and a swarm lure, just a thought but it probably depends if there are any bees in close proximity to you, i did this and it worked but i have local beekeepers close by chris

    they will be within a 3 mile radius, i never see any of my bees on my allotment plants they must go to bigger source 1st i think but i am surrounded by gardens, rivers and fields

    i had over 60 sweetcorn plants on our allotments and not a single bee on them, the pollen wasn't bright yellow but more of biege dust

    sweetcorn is wind pollinated i don't think the bees go near it
