    Watching my obs hive, they dont eat much over the winter anyway. Having an obervation hive myself do you think they don't eat that much due the the temp change in your house aposed to being out in a hive in your back garden /apairy I have put my bees from mine in a nuc for the winter.

    he treats for varroa in Jan oxic acid q ex yes double bb seems no problem with varroa he has been keeping bees for 40 + years :rules: he also finds it to heavy to remove full super so this way he can take frames out of super and do it at his pace i think and open mind on this one. pros and cons...

    One of my bee buddy's leave's his supers on till winter he calls it self clearing as soon as the cold spells set in and the bees cluster its then that he removes them must be less stress for them what your thought Thanks in advance Alan:judge:

    when people talk about wet supers do they mean after taking the honey do you store wet or do you mean after letting the bees clean the combs a bit confused

    i use this method i believe it's a good practice that has been passed on to me by my mentor Waveride its a very cheap and practical way to do it

    i think £5 is fair remember jar + label (which by law is to be on the jar if you sell the time and the hassle. And dont forget the bees if you do some easy example what bees need to do just to make one teaspoon of honey people would pay top price (i think you have seen cheap honey in the shop...

    Have you removed your supers now, if so are you on double brood chambers why i ask is if your super are on they will keep going filling if you are on double brood they will be storing for winter as the queen slows down they will fill with necter retricking her for from ticking over with brood...

    Osr is your honey oil seed rape as it a pain cos it sets like concrete if you dont extract as soon as it gets capped not worthy
